Nothing at all against the wonderful folks who brought us AUD tapes over the years, including many that sound very good. But there are to my ears anyway some shows that are simply stunning in content, yet sorely in need of better sound--whether it's SBD, MOTB, FOB...whatever...anyway, here's my list:

4/3/82, The Scope, VA. What a great show. best EYES of the 80's. My #1 wish for a better source show.

9/25/81, Lehigh, PA. Great, long, jammed out show. Excellent Birdsong, Scarlet>Fire, Samson, Peter, and a killer sandwich Sugar Mag SSDD...no great source exists to my knowledge.

9/12/81. Just discovered this gem, but disagree w/those who say a great AUD exists...sounds muffled and far off to me, with very little Brent and Phil presence.

10/12/84, Augusta, ME. This one comes closest to having some pretty good AUD sources, but for as outstanding as this show is (2nd set may be best of the 80's), it still deserves an upgrade.

Others?

Yeah, my list almost matches yours exactly. The Augusta show has always been in my personal top 5 and while the AUD's are very nice and the SBD's acceptable, a show of this magnitude really deserves the best source that could be had. Perhaps, like you said, this one would be worthy of a Matrix re-mix.

Also strongly agree about Lehigh. Always loved that one, but yearned for a stronger source. If you get some info on your list, please share with the rest of us.

I would like a better AUD of 11/2/79 Nassau.

And a better 4/13/83 - UVM Patrick Gym

Ditto on UVM. You folks are scaring me. Well, more than usual.

The UVM AUD is quite good, but it cuts out in the middle of an absolutely stellar Eyes. The SBD is also strong, but IT cuts out in the middle of an equally stellar Dew. I had to splice the two sources to get a complete show. I would love a complete version of the show (matrix maybe? hint, hint)

Have you given this one a whirl yet? - it is missing drums. I haven't listened to whole recording yet.

Just gave it a quick listen. Pretty darn good. Little loud on the crowd noise, but very strong nonetheless an he's patched the Eyes. Sucks that he, for whatever reason, decided not to record drums. This source, plus the SBD, are indeed excellent candidates for a combo. Someday perhaps.

Thanks for the reference.

Very noticable cut at end of Brother Esau in this recording - I am giving it my first full listen today.

Staying with the 1983 theme. I have been trying to find sbds for Saratoga 6/18 and both Merriweather shows 6/20 and 6/21.
